René Lévesque Would be Rolling Over in His Grave.

The disgusting and immature of actions of Pierre Poilievre, M.P. in the House of Commons and at committee raise the question of House civility and parliamentary etiquette. Parliament has been reduced to a farce, and the current Prime Minister not only condones this shameful behavior, but encourages it. René Lévesque of course is the patron Saint of Quebec separatism, but aside from his political beliefs he is also known as the patron Saint of House Civility. Yes, the same man who was never seen without a cigarette in his mouth, (if someone more inclined with Quebec politics could confirm to me whether or not he actually lit up in the Quebec Assembly, it would be appreciated) as Premier of Quebec announced in the Assembly that the desktop thumping was neanderthalal and juvenile, and a polite applause would be more appropriate way to show appreciation. The concept was endorsed by the opposition, and desk thumping was all but extinct from the Quebec Assembly. Ottawa soon followed suit, as did other provincial legislations. Too bad such a concept seems a world way in Parliament today.

Pierre Poilievere is a total showboat. I would love to see that idiot go down in defeat and see him work in the private sector for a couple of days. I am sure his sorry ass would be fired. Too bad he lives in a safe conservative riding. Hopefully he is defeated at the nomination meeting before next election.

Nepean-Carleton is not all that safe of a Conservative riding, at least federally.

Certainly, Mr. Poilievere beat David Pratt but that is because there was always something about Mr. Pratt that seemed to be off. Many found him to be a little too slippery by half.

In the last election the Liberals put a weak candidate against him. The only thing the Liberal had going for him was his relationship to a former Liberal MP when the riding was Nepean.

Mr. Poilievere ran on the platform of getting a sweet deal for the Queensway-Carleton hospital. Unfortunately he is going up against the NCC and they have seen off more experienced and connected MPs than Mr. Poilievere.

Once he loses that battle he will be vulnerable, provided the Liberals can put up a credible opponent to run against him.

Pierre P should stay out of politics until he's ready to wear long pants. And, what's with the greasy hair and kiss curls - new conservative look?
